Let us introduce you to some of our faculty and staff:
Mrs. Ledyard: Mrs. Ledyard joins Valeo Academy this year as the first grade teaher. At a young age, Mrs. Ledyard knew God had given her a passion for teaching. She began to pursue this passion at Evangel University, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education and Early Childhood Development in 2000. Over the next few years, she gained experience in the classroom by teaching pre-kindergaren 3rd grade and 6th grade. In 2005, she earned her Master of Education degree form Southwest Baptist Univeristy. She is excited to bring her education, experience, and passion for teaching to the students of Valeo Academy. In adition to teaching, Mrs. Ledyard is a skilled volleyball player and coach. She lettered four years in volleyball at Evangel University and has coached volleyball at the high school and collegiate levels. Mrs. Ledyard and her husband have been married for two years, and they have a golden retriever named Packer.
Mrs. Her: Mrs. Her joins Valeo Academy for the 2007-2008 school year as the 2nd grade teacher. After receiving her degree in Elementary Education from Bethel University, Mrs. began her career teaching third grade, and over the past few years, expanded her experience to include Kindergarten and Preschool. She is excited to be teaching in a Christian environment and loves the opportunity to share her faith and the love of God with her students.
Miss Baugh: Miss Baugh returns as our third and fourth grade teacher. After graduating from Oral Roberts University, where she earned an Elementary Education degree, Miss Baugh traveled to China and led a team of future educators to teach English as a Second Language, her emphasis. During her time at ORU, she received much leadership training on and off the mission field - training that carries over into every aspect of her life. Her travels and missions have taken her to nine different countries, and she looks forward to sharing her learning experiences with her students! With Miss Baugh’s background in outreach, she would like to create opportunities for her students to reach out to their community and to the nations!
Mrs. Kennedy: Mrs. Kennedy recently earned her Master's Degree in Teaching and is currently Valeo Academy our fifth and sixth grade teacher. For Mrs. Kennedy, teaching at Valeo Academy is an answer to her prayer. Upon learning of the Principle Approach to education and praying for a school to open in the Chicago area, Mrs. Kennedy decided to educate herself, and subsequently her children at home for several years. During this time, God was answering her prayers for a Principle Approach school to open in the Chicago area through Valeo Academy. Mrs. Kennedy not only brings an advanced education degree to Valeo, but also 7 years experience teaching and learning with the Principle Approach to education. She enjoys a full life of serving God with her husband, children, and church family at Life Changers International Church!
Miss Gillogly: After having taught the Prep School at Valeo Academy for three years, Miss Gillogly returns to Valeo Academy's High School program. Her passion to study the Bible and law led her to Oral Roberts University, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Theology and a minor in Government. For the past three years, she has been involved in teaching the middle and high school students in the Preparatory School. Besides having a love for great literature, Miss Gillogly also enjoys writing, laughing, anything outdoors, missions, and deep dish spinach pizza! As a teacher, she desires to help students encounter and know God through study of His Word, His creation, history, and through their own individuality! She is excited to be a part of Valeo Academy and is looking forward to a great 2007-2008 school year.
Mr. Buenik: With an extensive educational background, Mr. Buenick joins Valeo Academy for the 2007-2008 school year as the newest high school teacher. After having put his degrees in Business Finance and an MBA in Information Systems to good use in the corporate world for several years, Mr. Buenik turned to his passion of teaching and began earning his Master's degree in Education. With a strong althetic background that includes personal training, Mr. Buenick enjoys such outdoor sports such as snow skiing, beach volleyball, and running. Having worked with children while volunteering in Vacation Bible Camp, Mr. Buenick looks forward to teaching with Valeo Academy and imparting his excitement as a life-long learner to the students of Valeo Academy.
